Last Day to Generate US Airways Grand Slam Activity

in US Airways

Just a friendly reminder that today is the last day to get any hits for the US Airways Grand Slam promo! It doesn’t matter when they post- just that you do the activity (like initiate a hotel transfer, buy something from a shopping partner) by today.

How many hits will you end up with this Grand Slam?  I slacked a little bit this year but should be good for 32 hits (80,000 bonus miles).

Check out my Master Guide for more info!

I was good for 16 Hits. I believe that’s 25,000 miles. Haven’t really done much to focus on US Airways miles yet, as I am largely new to the game. But that’s a good start.

Better than nothing for sure! I value US miles around 2 cents a piece, so thats still $500 gained in my book (assume you spent much less than that to get the hits)

I landed 32 hits, thanks in no small part to the great info that was shared by The Points Guy and Mommy Points. Definitely a learning experience – I spent more than I wanted to, and made a few boneheaded mistakes, but I’ll still come in around 3/4 of a cent per mile. Just wanted to say thanks again, in advance, as these points will likely go towards a nice trip to Europe in business class for two sometime in 2012.

How can I land a good cheap fast hit for today? I am missing one to land 12. Thank you

    32 hits here, 80K.

36 hits, 180K with bonuses, spent around $655 to get them.

  • Cory

    Which do you have already?

  • Maxim

25 hits for 60K miles. Didn’t do any hotels or car rentals

  • Maury

Thank you Cory. I just did a quick Points.com exchange and got the hit number 12!

Are you sure today is the last day and not yesterday? I can’t get to the Grand Slam page without searching for it on US Airways.com. Also, the terms and conditions state between September 14th and November 14th which taken literally means it all ended last night at midnight. I have a friend that needs a few more hits but I would hate to tell her to proceed if it is all meaningless. Then finally, what time zone is used to mark the 15th if today still counts?

It runs until today. To be safe I’d have all hits done by 11:59pm eastern time.

Never thought I’d have to stay at days inn, best western and TRAVELODGE and drive budget, but…what can I do, I’m a points whore! lol
As a result – 34 hits, 11 out of them are yet to be posted though.
Not bad, I have to say.
    Thanks.

32+1 hits for 105K miles :D Thanks TPG, your master guide was super helpful! Came in a little high at $750 spent, but I learned some lessons for next year. Going for 36 (+1) next time around!

This was my first Grand Slam. I was starting my US Airways account from scratch. Spent just $1 for 8 hits. Will go for a lot more next time.

Just need netflix to post and I am good to go. No safety hit for me.

I definitely was lame and had some hits after midnight EST. I’m hoping PST saves us. Anyone have any experience with that in the past?

I logged 25 hits, the biggest single expense was buying points on the first day, but since I got the 2 for 1 bonus on 20k points, it was worth it. Most of the other expense were for things I had already planned or would have done anyway only through a different (lower cost) source, with the main exception being my skymall purchase of an iphone “skin” for $12 dollars. All said, 35 miles for about $700 additional cost, which actually becomes 75k miles when the miles purchase is factored in, or less than a penny a mile. Tough to beat that, and it was fun doing it. Thanks for the tips and info.

To add though, this is based on my points worksheet. To date, only half of the hits have been posted, and some things are well over a month old. I also can’t tell what I got hit credits for, since I did earn miles credits for an insurance quote and also for answering trivia questions on Audience Rewards, but won’t know until they are all compiled to know if these were counted or not. I have enough in purchases and exchanges without them, but if it turns out that a hit was earned without a purchase it will change my strategy for the next time around.

8 of my hits have posted as have the bonus 10,000 miles. Not sure if all of my last 4 will go through, but at least I didn’t spend much at all thanks to TPG. And it gave me something to do at a boring desk job! Only things I paid for which I wouldn’t have already were the $4 supershuttle ride I never took and a $1 e-book through B&N/Thanks Again. So I got at least 10k miles for $5, and possibly 15k. I went from having around 5,000 pts in my account to 22k now, and a few more things should post soon so it’ll get me a basic domestic flight. I only had one hotel stay that work paid for and no rental cars.
Next time I’ll start earlier so it gives me a little more time to post and to know whether I should bother making an investment to get a few more hits.

Ended up with 16 hits. Only one hotel and no car rentals. Maybe spent $600. Biggest expense was buying the miles 2 for 1 with the bonus but that’s already been turned into an Envoy Class roundtrip envoy ticket to Europe.

Was a lot of fun. Kind of surprised other airlines don’t do something similar.

I’m still waiting for points to post. I’ve contacted the partner and they say it can take up to 60 days to show on my account. As long as the “activity date” is within the GS period, does that still count even is they post to my account after the GS ends. The Dividend Miles info has two dates – activity and posted
