Competition was fierce this year and the votes were razor close. In fact, as of 11:59pm EST, there were two people tied for third place, so I ended up considering four finalists for the top prize:
- Ethan the Magician (20%, 427 Votes)
- Points Rapper (17%, 363 Votes)
- Bad Teacher (16%, 342 Votes)
- The “Other” Brian (16%, 342 Votes)
As I stated in the original post on the giveaway, I understand that online polls are by no means scientific (and this one was a WordPress plug-in, so hardly foolproof from those who wanted to manipulate the results), so the final winner would be selected by me.
I re-watched the top 4 videos and went with the one that I found most entertaining and creative- and that is Points Rapper a.k.a Conor.
The three runners up will each receive $100 American Express Gift Cards- we will be in touch with you directly about getting them shipped to you.
Here’s Conor’s winning entry.
I asked Conor for a quick bio on his miles and points/ travel background:
“I grew up in Charleston, West Virginia. Inevitably, my checked bags
would end up in Charleston, South Carolina.
Long ago, I learned the value of traveling with just a carry-on.
Recently, thanks to the Points Guy’s advice, I’ve been able to take my
trusty 20″ red Victorinox to some pretty amazing places for free!
In the past year, I’ve used miles to fly business class to Tokyo,
Seoul, Copenhagen, and Stockholm. I’ve collected over half a million
miles and points from various credit card sign-ups and special
promotions in 2011.
I love to travel, try new restaurants, and see live music. And, while
I’m sure this comes as quite a shock, I am not actually a professional
I’m fairly new to all of this, and am excited to meet everyone at the
MegaDo! Thanks to the Brian for the opportunity!”
A huge thanks to all who entered- I had a blast watching all of the entries and I look forward to many future contests!
