Friendly Reminder: 6 Deals are Expiring on Sept 30th, 2011

Maybe it’s because September 30 is the last day of the fiscal year, but a lot of great promotions, deals and transfer opportunities will be coming to an end on Friday, so now’s your last chance to take advantage of them.

1. Transfer Amex points to Continental Airlines. For information check out my recent post and video on the subject.

2. 50% bonus on first-time American Express Membership Rewards transfers to Delta (and 25,000 MQM bonus when you transfer 100,000 or more points). Registration required (targeted).

3. Get in on the 67% bonus/40% rebate on repeat American Express Membership Rewards points to Delta transfers. Registration required.

4. The 100% bonus on purchased and inter-account transferred Delta SkyMiles. You effectively double your miles every time you transfer them to someone else’s SkyMiles account (and/or back again to your own) for what amounts to a nominal fee. Check out my post on it here.

5. Sign-up for Fairmont emails and receive 500 free Aeroplan miles. Enter the code: PASHN, then add your Aeroplan number to your profile.

6. Earn a 50% bonus on purchased Amtrak points. Hey, you never know when you might need to train it somewhere in a hurry.

    Wow, I have a curse of riches dilemma. Thanks to this blog, I have a little over 100k Membership Rewards points.

    I don’t know what to do!? By tomorrow I need to decide to sit on my MR points, or transfer them to Delta with the 40% rebate (aka 67% bonus). 100k MR points for 100k Delta SM and 40k MR points.

    (I have transferred MR to Delta many times before, and neither of us are eligible for the MQM transfer bonus)

    This is fun!

    The 50% delta transfer is calling my name……I don’t know what to do LOL. Through a lucky coincidence I now have over 100K MRs, which I used as an excuse for not doing the transfer. Decisions, decisions, oy!

    I just login Amex account to transfer my MR to Delta and could not find the “borrow” points on my account. I called Amex Membership Reward and was told now that option is no long available online and they have to transfer it for me. I wonder how long it will actually take to get the 20000 MR points “Rebate” to post on my account.

    Delta gave me a message that I am registered for the promo, but when I put in the number of points I want to transfer on the Amex site, it tells me that it will only convert my MR points to Delta miles on a 1:1 basis. Has anyone else experienced this? Will the MR points actually be transferred on a 1:1.5 basis if I process the transaction?

    As I dither on whether or not to transfer AMEX MR points to CO before the deadline, am I right in thinking that the Chase Sapphire points are (will continue to be) transferable? Thanks for keeping up (and keeping us up) with all this, Brian!

    Hi Points Guy – just started reading your blog and really love it. I’m pretty much a beginner; tried using the Delta/MR promo to transfer Amex Zync points over (I’ve since moved on to better cards, but still have about 30K points left over here), and it didn’t work b/c apparently Zync points are “MR Express”. Any suggestions on the best way to burn them? Thanks!

    If you have MR cards linked to your Zync, they should become full MR points and thus be able to be transferred. I’d call Amex if you don’t see that option online

    Yes- at least as long as Continental exists (technically Jan 1 it becomes United Mileageplus) and they haven’t yet announced whether United will be a transfer partner going forward (it currently is not).
