Update on the LRA Paid Hotel Surveys

In May and June I wrote about the opportunity to get up to $250 for simple surveys on your hotel stays. I know it sounded too good to be true, but I personally vouched for the company because I knew the CO – he is the father of my best friend growing up.

TPG readers submitted about 500 surveys, which means collectively you will get paid nearly $50,000!

Some of you have been reaching out lately that you haven’t received payment or heard from LRA. Here’s the deal: they aren’t the most responsive with emails, but they are sending out payments (sorry if it’s a little past the one month timeframe they originally agreed on). I know for a fact they sent a bunch out recently and more will be going out July 22 (this Friday). If you don’t get a check within the next two weeks and you are concerned about it – don’t freak out, just email me and I’ll handle it.

This was a new experiment for me – I generally don’t “pimp” my readership out, but this seemed like a very mutually beneficial opportunity. If you participated, please feel free to comment below on your thoughts and whether you’d do it again if given the opportunity.

    I completed one survey, and got a check for $100 a month or so later. I was impressed! I would have filled out a MUCH more detailed survey for $100! I sure appreciated the opportunity.

    I received a check for $100 about 10 days ago for one survey that I completed at the beginning of May, so approximately 60 days start to finish…I would be happy to participate again on future hotel stays, great program and thanks!!

    I took a survey in the second week of May and received my check last week (almost exactly 2 months). I’d be happy to hear about similar offers going forward.

    I completed the survey in early June, and have heard nothing back yet. I would not be too worried, but I am not sure what address I gave them. I am not sure I still have the address I listed available. For some reason, I had expected them to send the money via PayPal. I e-mailed to ask them where they were sending it a couple of weeks ago, but have not heard back…

    I for one was annoyed by the survey. I started it and it asked for my next hotel stay, not my most recent one, so I dutifully waited a week or so to review that one…by which time the survey had closed. Even though I missed out, who wouldn’t want $100 for a few minutes of their time?

    Did mine first week of May, and didn’t get check yet. Survey wasn’t bad – very straightforward and reasonable and will provide them data – as you said mutually beneficial (perhaps 3 ways).

    Would loved to have done the 2nd and 3rd though but could not find out how to do it as I could not reach them.

    I’d love to have the chance to take the other two, but I haven’t heard from them again!

    Just got the check last week. Note that it comes in the mail without a letter or any labeling except for the LRA name on the top part of the check.

    Chiming in here to let others know that you’ll be paid $100 or w/e your offer was. I did receive a check, didn’t expect it but a nice bonus for a good night out for drinks and dinner!

    filled out in May, received check a few weeks ago. Had to look up what LRA was since I had forgotten and wanted to know why I had a random $100 check :)

    I would happily participate again. I have not received my check for an earlier stay, nor an answer to an email, and was disappointed not to be able to fill out a survey for a recent stay at Marriott’s Renaissance in Barcelona…that stay was delightful and they really know how to treat elite status guests. I would love to review that stay.

    I got my check last week! My question is, do I use the original email from them to submit another survey after another stay? Or are they supposed to send another email at some point with another link to use?
