Florists have huge mark-ups on products, so they can afford to give out crazy mileage bonuses. If you are going to send flowers this Mothers Day, you’d be a fool not to take advantage of these deals:

    If you connect to 1-800-Flowers through Continental’s website, it looks like you can get 50 miles per dollar spent if you use the Continental credit card. http://www.continental.com/CMS/en-US/marketing/custcomm/promotions/Pages/PartnerOfferDetailsWOC.aspx?ItemId=268

    Make sure to use your continental branded credit/debit card through the onepass shopping mall and you’ll earn 50 miles/dollar for all flower merchants!!!

    looks like I jumped too soon. I used the UA shop to get 30 miles per $, but now just got the CO email stating 50 miles per $ (with lots of fine print).

    It’s interesting how each program has different miles per dollar with the same merchants. So you have to check every program, every time. Is there a tool out there that shows you the best offers among all of the shopping “malls”?

    US Airways is doubling shopping mall miles, so it looks like the usual 20 Dividend Miles per dollar at FTD or 1800Flowers turns into 40/dollar.

    I use http://www.evrewards.com. If you enter the name of the merchant, it shows you the % back from the cashback sites, and the miles from the frequent flier programs. It also lists many of the current coupons and promotions.

    Unfortunately, it doesn’t seem to keep up with fast moving detailed promotions, like the CO one listed above with all the fine print. You still have to comb through Flyertalk and use ThePointsGuy to find the latest and greatest!

    I used the 1-800-flowers web site yesterday and it had a code for $15.00 off two flower or gift orders placed at once. The only problem is that the checkout page offers only one discount code entry and it had the Delta code for the points already entered. When I attempted to call to see how to use both codes, I kept getting “John” or “Mary”, who were barely understandable in the Phillipine call center. When I went back to the checkout page, the transportation charges were half the cost of the bumped up prices. My mistake for waiting until last minute for Mom’s day flowers.

    I spent $100 on flowers for someone’s baby shower. Used Continental OnePass shopping for $5000 points! Not a bad deal, definitely eased the blow of spending $100 on flowers.
