30% Off American Airlines Admirals Club Membership With Discount Code

Today’s deal in AAdvantage’s “30 Deals in 30 Days” promotion is a 30% off coupon for Admirals Club membership when you use promo code AADV30 at checkout. It looks like this code will be good until June 13, 2011.

Yearly membership for non-elites starts at $500 and is as low as $350 for Executive Platinum members.

However, instead of paying this fee, I’d rather pay $450 and get the American Express Platinum Card, which gives Admirals Club access when flying on AA, though only Admiral’s club members get complimentary wifi. The Platinum card also has a ton of other benefits like the ability to get reimbursed for up to $200 a year in airline credits (including AA gift cards if you choose AA as your airline), free Global Entry, Delta, US Airways, Continental (Until Sept 30, 2011), Alaska and Priority Pass Select lounge access 25,000 bonus points for first time members.     I have only recently become an AMEX Platinum Member, and will be flying for the first time since next week. I will be flying American, and will be stopping by the MIA AA Admirals Club.

    Based on what you wrote, I will be unable to access the complimentary WiFI, since I’m not an actual Admiral’s Club Member. Is this true? I was very much unaware of this fact, and am quite disappointed to learn this. What can I look forward to expecting at the Admiral’s Club next week?

    I was wondering if you can write an article on what one can I specifically look forward to in terms of club benefits (Meals, snacks, non/alcoholic drinks (Limited number/unlimited), free WiFi, etc.) at the AA, DL, CO, UA Clubs , and Priority Pass Select Clubs as an AMEX Platinum member only?

    @Swizard- American is really cheap when it comes to lounges and only give wifi to members. However, if you ask nicely, you may be able to get a wifi card (or find one laying around that someone hasn’t used).

    I think an Amex Platinum lounge post is a great idea- I will definitely consider doing that.

    Sounds good. I heard they also have computers that people there can use at the Admiral’s Club, is that true? If so is it open to all? I’m sure I could just unplug the LAN wire and plug it into my laptop. =)
    Unless there is some sort of login process for the internet or the wire is Zip Tied down. .. I also heard the following two things: 1) the AA, DL, and CO clubs require a respective boarding pass to enter, and 2) the UA is open to all AMEX Platinum members, are these statements true? If so, just briefly what are the club amenities for AMEX Platinum members like at UA Clubs? Is it worth my time to land in MIA and hope over to a UA club instead. I would go to a Priority Pass Club but I won’t have my PP card on me during my trip.

    FYI, AAdvantage Executive Platinum members get free wi-fi (they’ll give you a scratch-card if you as for it).

    I followed your link to the AMEX platinum signup website, but I didn’t see any indication of the 25,000 bonus miles. Is that offer still available? If so, would I have to sign up for a new card, or can I upgrade from my existing gold card & keep the same number?
