Incredible Delta Loyalty Promotions (Targeted)

Delta just sent out a bunch of emails to people incentivizing them to increase their flying/loyalty. Offers include 75% mileage bonuses and rewards up to 100,000 miles. I haven’t gotten one (yet – fingers crossed), but I’ll give a recap tomorrow morning once the dust settles. I wanted to alert everyone now so you can make sure to NOT ignore any emails from Delta today. Feel free to post your offer below in the meantime.

    I was waiting for you to post on this! I’m a DL Silver and I got the following offer:

    I received the FO offer too (I dropped from Plat to Silver this year). It’s certainly not a shabby offer, though I’m not in the most need of Skymiles with the 600k Delta in the bank.

    Got the Gold. Nice offer as I’m on pace for platinum anyway. A nice little gift, plus a carrot to go for Diamond if I fly more than anticipated.

    I am a Gold member and this is what I received today. I only earn bonus miles if I re-qualify for status in 2011.

    Great offer, I signed up for the Silver within a couple minutes of receipt. It won’t take long for me to reach gold, now – so will really be raking in extra miles.

    I am pretty certain this are straight bonus miles, though… I’ve seen no reference to this bonus impacting MQMs. I’d love it even more if it did… but I’ll take the miles for vacation travel, no problem :)

    FO but haven’t flown since December and don’t start up again until mid-April. I’ll probably do 8-12 segments in Q2 though.

    Still haven’t gotten an offer but I hope I get one of these!

    So, unusual scenario. I received and signed up for the “no status” offer (silver status for 6 flown segments or gold for 12). After that, I came across the American Express deal that will give me silver status on Delta. I have not transferred the points from Amex yet and wanted to find out if it was possible that I could get gold status doing the following:

    Fly the 6 segments from 4/1 to 6/30, get silver status. Then, convert the points, get the 25,000 MQMs and then earn gold status.

    Is this doable, or will Delta treat it differently? I hope that isn’t confusing. Thanks in advance.

    @Jason- not confusing at all. However, I’m not sure how Delta is posting the comped status. However, my gut tells me that Delta only changes your status level in the system- they don’t actually give you MQMs. SO if you did the 12 segments and got Gold, you would NOT be at 50,000 MQMs- you’d still have to get your meager MQM balance up to 75,000 MQMs in order to get Platinum. This is how it works with status gifts- as a Diamond, I can gift my friend Gold status, but they still need to get to 75,000 MQM in order to get Platinum.

    So basically, the MQMs won’t get you to Platinum after you hit gold status, however Delta does have rollover, so if you play your cards right, you can basically roll some of them over depending on how much you end up flying this year. You roll over however many miles above a certain elite level, but below the next. So if you fly 49,999 miles this year, you’ll start 2012 with 24,999. If you fly 24,999 miles this year, you start with 0 in 2012 because you hadn’t technically hit an elite level.

    Make sense?

    So, then my other question, somewhat related question, is this:

    If I transfer my Amex points and get silver status, it sounds like I will retain that status until Feb 2013. That said, if I earn 15,000 MQM this year (what I earned last year), it will roll over those 15k MQM in Jan 2012. Then, if I earn another 15k MQM in 2012, would I then earn Gold status? If so, when would that gold status be good until – Feb 2013 or Feb 2014?

    As you can tell, I’m very strategic =].. thanks for the insight.
