I constantly preach about dining programs, because there’s no reason not to be a part of them. Even if you don’t have any dining establishments in your town, the list constantly changes and there are generally a lot of participating restaurants in bigger cities.
That being said, if you sign up for the Delta program and have a Delta Amex, you get 500 free miles. You get an additional 1,000 after spending $30 within 30 days, which isn’t hard to do in NYC. You may even get the miles if you don’t have a Delta Amex – I don’t and I just received this email after registering:
“Thank you for registering for the Exclusive Signing Bonus promotion with SkyMiles Dining. You’ve earned 500 bonus miles!
You are now eligible to earn an additional 1,000 bonus miles when you spend $30 at participating restaurants, bars or clubs in the next 30 days.
Please note that activity that occurred prior to registering for the Exclusive Signing Bonus promotion will not be eligible for the promotion. Please see the Bonus Details.
Sincerely,
SkyMiles Dining Member Services
