2,500 American Miles for $8 Netflix Subscription

Netflix is offering 2,500 miles for customers who sign up through this link.

Technically, this is for new customers, but as long as you use a different address, email, and credit card, I don’t know how they’d possibly be able to trace duplicate accounts since this promotion doesn’t require a social security number.

The $7.95 membership is online only, so you don’t even have to worry about getting DVDs sent to you. You simply pay the first month and cancel before the next month bills. There is nothing in the T&C stating you need to be a member for a certain amount of time.

Offer is valid to new Netflix members only, and only one American Airlines AAdvantage mileage award will be awarded per AAdvantage number.     Maybe this is a daft question, but it says in the terms that it is not combinable with any other offers (including a free trial month). When I try to sign up, it automatically puts into a free trial month. So that doesn’t seem to make sense to me… anyone else experiencing the same thing?

    Thanks for the response. I tried the link again, and it still kicks me into a free month trial. It could be because I’m in Canada, even though we have netflix up here, too. Maybe later I’ll try clearing cookies and trying again.

    Medman- might as well try! You can also possibly create a new AAdvantage account and get the miles and then have AA merge the accounts. I haven’t done this, but have heard others have had success doing so. Seems like its worth a shot since its only $8.

    I signed up for Netflix about a month before this deal was announced so I ignored it. I did not think about creating a separate account to get the 2,500 miles. Brilliant!

    An update if anyone is still using this promotion — Netflix does cross-reference on addresses. I used an old address, and the points never posted. I called in to see what was up, and they said there was still an open account at that address (whoever lives there now), so it didn’t count for the promotion.

    On the bright side, the rep was super friendly, and had no problem refunding my $7.99.

    So if you use this promotion, try to come up with an address that doesn’t have an active account!

    FYI: I signed up with Netflix using the link listed on this page. After about one week, 1500 miles is posted to my AA account today. I do not know if the offer is only good for 1500 miles not, or 1000 miles would be posted later on.

    I am existing but it didn’t even ask for my mailing address and I used a different card and email so I dont see how this will be an issue!

    Just an update: I signed up for the Netflix service 2 weeks ago (7/4/11) with a different Email, Address and CC than my normal Netflix account. My 3K miles posted today (7/12/11). Thanks for the tip!
