2,500 Delta Skymiles Birthday Bonus

Yep, Delta will give you 2,500 miles just for being born in the month of January (and for buying a ticket and flying by Feb 28, 2011). This offer is technically targeted, but as long as your birthday is in your Delta profile, you should be eligible. They’ll even throw in a $100 Delta Vacations gift certificate. This promotion has been happening every month, so if your birthday is in February, don’t fret.

This promo actually used to be much more lucrative- with people getting double miles, including MQMs on flights. Delta has since scaled it back, but free miles are free miles so I won’t complain. I’ll only complain if they stop running this promotion before March!

    Ugh Delta keeps messing with me. First this comes out a month after my birthday passed. Then they give triple miles to a bunch of Florida cities, but not the one I was flying to. I’m officially mildly annoyed.

    This should have been happening in December 2010, too… I received the bonus in November 2010 under this promo.

    I hear you on the cities in Florida cities… If the right folks are watching, I could use a promo between MSP and MCO ;-)

    I am Gold Medallion and born in January and flying on Friday from LHR to LAS but when I tried to use the birthday bonus it says I am not eligible!!

    Any ideas?

    I doubt I have the competency to truly help with something like this, Tim (not that you are asking me, of course)… But you might try reaching out to Delta Skymiles Support/Q&A, or to email “The points guy” (I’m sure I’ve seen a name/email…)…

    However, when I clicked the link in the above entry, it looked pretty straight forward – > just enter your Skymiles number to register.

    As I recall from November, there wasn’t any additional detail needed. That seems pretty typical of Delta’s promos.

    I’d recommend you try again quick, then reach out to either of them – and good luck!

    Are you subscribed to promotions/emails? If you chose not to recieve promotions, then they may have excluded you from the promo since they would have had no way to contact you about it. Also, are you a US resident? Delta has been known to run promos for only US residents.
