I got this email today from Delta, which I nearly ignored:

Hello Mr. Points Guy,
Starting today you can earn 3 miles for every dollar you spend on eligible FedEx® shipments through March 31, 2011. Plus, just for enrolling in the FedEx and Delta SkyMiles® program, you will earn 1,000 miles. It’s that simple to get even closer to Award Travel.

Sign up before March 31, 2011 to take advantage of this offer. You will also earn 500 miles for your first and fourth shipments after you enroll. After March 31, 2011, you will continue to earn 1 mile for every dollar you spend on eligible FedEx shipments.

It took me about two minutes to sign up and though I had to enter a credit card, no purchase was necessary. Hell, I may even have to ship some things soon, so I might as well get points! Not a bad deal: 1/100 of a transatlantic business class ticket for 2 minutes of my time – I’ll take it.

    Looks like you don’t get the 1,000 miles until you’ve shipped four packages, right? Did they change the terms, maybe?

    My offer stated 1000 points for signing up and 1000 points after 4 shipments.
    Even If You didnt get the email It’s worth a shot to sign up since it’s free

    Thanks for the link. Just a question though, it kept on reporting “error page” when I finished filling in my credit card information. Did that happen to you too?

    Did anyone get their 1000 delta miles posted yet?

    It has been 7 weeks since I signed up so I just called them and they said it take up to 8 weeks to post so they asked me to call back in a week. I’d be interested to know if this already worked for anyone.
